At the iGuzzini Headquarters, a leading company in the field of lighting for urban spaces, communities, and living environments, in Recanati, the new Lighthinking Space was recently inaugurated. A multifunctional area open to the entire company community, where work and socializing blend to create a technological environment capable of meeting professional needs and enhancing personal well-being.
The architectural intervention by APML Architects Pedron / La Tegola has revitalized the space on the 3rd floor - originally reserved for executive offices - transforming it into a contemporary space designed for socializing and work, open to all employees and the company community.
The new 400-square-meter multifunctional space can accommodate up to 50 people simultaneously and consists of meeting islands with various functions and destinations: lounge and conversation areas, presentation and training rooms, meeting rooms equipped with audio-video systems and interactive whiteboards, fully equipped kitchenettes, and relaxation areas with libraries.
Cristiano Venturini, CEO of iGuzzini, said, "We envisioned Lighthinking Space as a tangible manifesto of iGuzzini's strategic vision, designed to express the drivers underlying our growth and, above all, the five values that must guide it, which we have chosen as markers for the internal areas. In this open, transparent, and professional space, everyone should be free to express themselves and interact respectfully and humanely, to share codes and methods, feeling part of a community and actively contributing to the company's journey."
Through in-depth study, architects Pedron and La Tegola have created a semantic connection with the brand's values and have defined five areas, identified by a chromatic code that extends to finishes and furnishings to convey sensations and suggest behaviors.
The Arper collections, characterized by versatile design, a wide variety of colors and materials, and a particular attention to environmental sustainability and personal comfort, represented the ideal solution for furnishing this space.
Alessandro Pedron, co-founder of APML Architects Pedron / La Tegola, said, "Lighthinking Space is the project of an inclusive and collaborative environment: all interior choices contribute to highlighting the transformation of space towards concepts of openness, transparency, and transversality. The objective of the intervention is to make people who work in and with the company feel good and enhance their sense of belonging. The study of color was a focus of the project because, when entering a space, color is the first thing perceived by the eye, even before shapes, and the brain, once it receives the input, generates a chromatic sensation. The variety of tonalities, materials, shapes, and functions contained in the Arper furniture and accessories catalog was the solution to all the needs of this project in the iGuzzini HQ."
The collections of tables, chairs, coffee tables, ottomans, and panels from Arper proved to be a perfect match for the customization objectives of the iGuzzini Lighthinking Space, creating the ideal conditions for work, relationships, sharing, and relaxation. With an effective modular language, the elegance of the sound-absorbing panels Paravan allows the space to be divided and organized into different functions. In the presentation room, a colorful array of Cila Go chairs - chairs with storage base on wheels and foldable writing surface - represent a versatile and functional solution for the various uses of the room during training activities and workshops.
The Cross table, characterized by architectural lines and ample dimensions, furnishes the meeting room surrounded by Kinesit task chairs, and, in the high table configuration, paired with Catifa 46 stools, it creates a multifunctional workstation for informal meetings, sharing lunch breaks, and hosting catering during company corporate events. The various lounge and conversation areas, equipped with comfortable Kata and Adell lounge chairs, Pix ottomans, and Dizzie coffee tables, alternate with meeting and sharing areas equipped with Kiik benches in the configuration with padded seats.
Hydroponic plants, colorful furnishings, and technologies make this a smart space: a place to live where light, air quality, and acoustic comfort are carefully studied to promote the wellbeing of all people who experience it – with a particular attention to environmental sustainability. An approach that evolves and strengthens the solutions implemented in the 1998 building designed by Mario Cucinella Architects – which 25 years ago already applied environmental principles such as natural lighting, temperature modulation, energy consumption reduction – that now hosts the iGuzzini Lighthinking Space.
