Catifa Carta wins the Interiors Monthly Award for Editor’s Choice Innovation of the Year – Furniture.
Interiors Monthly Awards celebrates the best retailers, manufacturers and suppliers in the interiors industry.
Catifa Carta was selected for its innovative sustainable materials and its circular design principles. Its shell is made from PaperShell, a new material made of composite wood by-product. PaperShell significantly reduces Catifa Carta environmental impact by mirroring the natural process of trees: sequestering carbon dioxide.
At the end of its life cycle, the material can be transformed into biochar, effectively retaining the carbon dioxide captured during its earlier phases. When mixed with soil, biochar becomes a home for mycelium and microbes to create new life.
