Arper in the ADI Design Index 2022

Arper's Kata chair, designed by Altherr Désile Park studio, and Mixu chair, designed in collaboration with Gensler, were included in the ADI Design Index 2022 publication in the Design for Living category.

This volume collects the products nominated for the ADI 2024 Compasso D'Oro Award, the most prestigious recognition of the production and design quality of Italian design goods, services, processes and systems.

Kata, design by Altherr Désile Park, 2021

Among the central production aspects of Kata and Mixu is sustainability.

In Kata, a solid wood structure, available in oak or black locust, both FSC certified, supports the body, made of 3D fabric with a delicate weave, designed specifically for the Kata project. The upholstery is made from post-consumer polyester yarns processed into lightweight, durable fibres. The fabric has been technologically conceived to perfectly adapt to the seat stem, reducing material waste to a minimum, and is available in two types.

Mixu, design in collaboration with Gensler, 2021

Mixu can be entirely disassembled (for recycling or reuse of all materials) and delivered disassembled to reduce its volume and limit the environmental impact of transport. The seat is available in post industrial recycled plastic, while the wooden version is FSC-certified.

The ADI Design Index 2022 publication was presented on 14 November at the ADI Design Museum in Milan, in conjunction with the opening of the exhibition of selected products that can be visited until 27 November. The exhibition will then travel to Rome, to the Treccani Institute, from 13-18 December.
