Working For Culture

Building culture enriches our perspective and affords the opportunity to support our community and the design world at large.

Bardi’s Bowl Chair

To coincide with the Lina Bo Bardi: Together exhibition, we issued a limited edition of Lina Bo Bardi’s 1951 classic Bowl Chair, which had never been mass-produced before. Only process sketches and an original handcrafted prototype were available for reference; however, working closely with the Instituto, we were able to produce a model that incorporated modern production techniques while remaining faithful to Bo Bardi’s spirit and vision.

Lina Bo Bardi: Together

An exhibition, an international tour and recently a book. In 2012, we joined curator Noemí Blager and the Instituto Bardi to support an exhibition entitled Lina Bo Bardi: Together, a celebration of the lesser-known Italian-Brazilian architect. The installation honors the work of Lina Bo Bardi through the creations of artist Madelon Vriesendorp, filmmaker Tapio Snellman, photographer Ioana Marinescu, and the artistic contribution of design collective Assemble. After an initial run at London’s British Council in 2012, Together launched into a four-year international tour, visiting Vienna, Basel, Paris, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Berlin, Milan, Treviso, Chicago, and Miami. In October 2016, the exhibition concluded in São Paulo at Bo Bardi’s own SESC Pompéia.

Guggenheim Intrapresae

In 2017, we joined Guggenheim Intrapresæ, a network of global companies pledged to support the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice. Founded in 1992, the organization comprises fifteen businesses from a variety of sectors—perfumery, interior design, lighting, footwear, furniture, etc.—united by a common belief in businesses’ social responsibility and the importance of the arts.

Arper supports Museo Bailo in Treviso

In 2018 another important piece adds to our commitment to culture: Arper is the sponsor for the second phase of the renovation works at Museo Bailo in Treviso. The history of this Museum is deeply intertwined with the identity of this city, therefore it has turned into an important reference point for the community. The twists and turns of history made it hard for citizens to fully enjoy this jewel of art for many decades. Also thanks to this intervention, carried out by Studiomas architetti, the museum will again play an important role not only for Treviso, but for the whole area.
