How can design empower and inspire new kinds of spaces? At a moment when it’s more relevant and necessary than ever, modularity has always been core to our design approach. Rigorously modular and endlessly flexible and customizable, our agile systems can be adapted with ease to diverse and changing needs and spaces, allowing easy assembly and disassembly for maintenance, reuse, and recycling.

How can design help to build a more responsible business and a more sustainable future? In 2023, we released our 2022 Sustainability Report —the first in Arper’s history. Detailing what we’ve done and where we’re going, it covers the broad scope of our ambitions: centering wellbeing of people and the planet, transitioning to a circular economy, and reducing our environmental impact.

STARTING THE TRANSITION TO A CIRCULAR ECONOMY
We support the transition from linear to circular economy, through the design of technologically innovative products and use of materials with low environmental impact.
The activation of services based on reuse and recycling policies, end-of-life management, and collaborations with research centers will help us implement innovative solutions to improve our sustainability performance.
We limit the production of waste whenever possible, through a policy of prevention, reduction and reuse of the product and its packaging.

We formally take steps to identify the critical issues connected to our activities, at every stage of the company’s processes.
We introduce analysis and measurement processes that allow us to know and understand the improvement areas on which to intervene.

MATERIAL INNOVATION
How does research and experimentation lead to new kinds of design solutions? This year we are reimagining Catifa, our most iconic collection, through the lens of a carbon negative re-engineered wood made exclusively from fiber-hardened paper. Research, material innovation, and partnership translated in modular collections and a cohesive aesthetic redefines design and beauty for the future.
