This year's British Pavilion Venice Takeaway: Ideas to Change British Architecture will present the work of ten architectural teams that have travelled the world to seek imaginative responses to universal issues and explore the common ground of architecture. Venice Takeaway charts their course in Argentina, Brazil, China, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Russia, Thailand and the USA.
Inspired by Albert Einstein who said, ‘If we knew what we were doing, it would not be research, would it?’ Venice Takeaway reminds us that the practice of architecture is as much about observation and thinking as it is about design.
Started in 2010, Arper's collaboration with the British Council focus on the support of international cultural initiatives aiming at exchanging ideas and knowledge and promoting an intercultural dialogue across arts, architecture and design.
The partnership will be further strengthened in the next months with a program of events and cultural projects taking place in London at the British Council Gallery and at the new Arper showroom, opening soon in Clerkenwell design district.
