Nuur in the ADI Design Museum

27 maggio 2021

Arper's new Nuur table, designed by Simon Pengelly in 2009, is part of the exhibition dedicated to the Compasso d'Oro winners at the ADI Design Museum, inaugurated on May 26, 2021 in Milan.

The Museum houses the Compasso d'Oro historical collection - made up of selected objects from 1954 to today - and features eight in-depth exhibitions that illustrate different historical moments of Italian design.

The Nuur table won the Compasso d'Oro in 2011 and was recognized by the jury for its "extreme lightness and attention to detail". Nuur is the archetypal table: a single, spare plane floats above four slender legs. The result is aesthetically pure but flexible. A universal system based on the simple principle of four corner legs, four rails and a top, Nuur adapts to diverse applications and environments.

The opening of the new design museum carries a strong message of rebirth and it aims to build, together with Milan and the whole Country, a place for narrating and enhancing the Italian design system: a concrete sign of hope for the Made in Italy culture and for the relaunch of the country, after the difficult situation experienced due to the pandemic.

In 2014, Arper's Brand Identity was awarded the Honourable Mention at the ADI's Compasso D'Oro. The project, developed in collaboration with the agencies 2x4 from New York and Lievore Altherr Molina from Barcelona, included an evolution in Arper's corporate language and the subsequent graphic identity.
