We are delighted to announce that Arcos – in the armchair version – designed by Lievore Altherr is the Winner of the 2017 Archiproducts Design Awards, in the “Contract” category.

The design competition, now in its second year, is organized by the Archiproducts portal – the international network that connects the design, architecture and construction sectors with an ever-growing community.

The Archiproducts Design Awards recognize, reward and celebrate international design excellence across a broad range of categories. Over 250 brands from 15 different countries have been judged and selected by an international panel of influential figures in the design and architecture industry, including architects Mario Bellini, Marcio Kogan, Ben Van Berkel, architecture studios Snøhetta, Piuarch and Studiopepe.

The Arcos armchair has captured the jury for its aesthetics, the quality of the design, and its innovative manufacturing technique.
A classical form, repeated. The Arcos collection is a restrained interpretation of Art Deco’s geometric glamour – without the ornamentation. Though lightweight and quiet, Arcos maintains a graphic presence due to its signature cast aluminum armrests that form twin curves evoking the elegant rhythm of archways in the corridors and walkways of classical architecture.
