2022 Sustainability Report
Our 2022 sustainability report, the first we published, serves as a comprehensive overview of our sustainability efforts for the year 2022, outlining our commitment to responsible business practices.
Our 2023 Sustainability Report leverages the experience we gathered with our first report in 2022 and serves as a comprehensive overview of our sustainability efforts.
In alignment with the GRI 2016/2021 standards, this report outlines our approach to sustainability management and explores key aspects of the new ESRS standards, including double materiality and impact management. A standout feature of the document is our pioneering impact valuation, a methodology that quantifies social and environmental impacts in monetary terms, moving beyond traditional qualitative assessments. Impact valuation is rapidly emerging as a crucial tool for sustainability-focused decision-making, offering a clear and tangible evaluation of the externalities generated by our organization. To our knowledge, we are the first furniture company to do this, and we are confident that many medium-to-large companies will be eager to adopt this assessment, enabling a collective step forward.
This report also emphasizes the importance of responsibility, fostering a culture of knowledge and care, redefining beauty with respect for people and the planet, and driving continuous innovation in both processes and products. It stands as evidence of our commitment not only to meeting standards but to leading the way in creating a better world in collaboration with our stakeholders.
The first section of the report focuses on our company, our brand ethos, on the essence of who we are. We want to face the challenges of the present time with a long-term vision and with planned actions able to positively impact the world.
The Pillars are the foundation of Arper’s sustainability strategy, representing the company’s three main goals in achieving responsible practices: improving the quality of life, starting the transition to a circular economy and reducing our environmental impact.
To achieve the three main goals of our strategy, the Pillars, we need to create a suitable infrastructure made of processes – but also mindsets – that will allow projects and plans to be developed and executed.
After identifying the Pillars and levers of change, the report focuses on the practical implementations of the strategy, outlining areas where we believe we can make a difference in the long term.
Our objective is to transform Arper into a leading example of responsible business. To achieve this, we carefully selected goals that will drive positive change.
