Located below street level in the Font d’en Fargas neighborhood, the BAAS architecture office is split into two levels, with a central open workspace. The upper level hums with the quiet din of concentration.

Independent offices are separated from each other by built-in glass and plywood partitions, creating a translucent corridor that makes visible the myriad projects and meetings contained within.

Below, the lower floor is a hub of physical activity — a workshop in constant motion. Large architectural models fill the open space to be studied from the multiple angles. Stacks of material samples are piled in front of rows of books, catalogues and architecture models.

In this split-level environment, space has been constructed for the open exchange of thought. Ideas conceived of above are brought to life in the workshop below in a continuous dialectic of thought and material, design and function, concept and structure.
