For the fourth consecutive year, Arper is delighted to support the Royal Institute of British Architects in its annual awards programme and other engaging initiatives.
In February, Arper was the sole sponsor of one of the highest architecture accolades in Great Britain: the 2019 Royal Gold Medal.
The Royal Gold Medal was awarded this year to renowned British architect Sir Nicholas Grimshaw, known for his Modernist public buildings and large-scale infrastructure projects.
This prestigious prize is approved personally by Her Majesty The Queen, and given to a person or group of people who have had a significant influence, either directly or indirectly, on the advancement of architecture.
Duna 02 and Dizzie collections were chosen for the Royal Gold Medal programme of events.
In July Arper joined the celebrations for the 2019 RIBA National Awards winners as exclusive furniture sponsor.
RIBA National Awards are given to buildings across the UK recognized as significant contributions to architecture.
The Awards ceremony was hosted at the newly redeveloped Garden Museum in London, which was furnished for the occasion with Arper’s Leaf, Saari, Dizzie and Pix collections.
The 2019 RIBA National Awards winners include 54 newly built projects across the UK. Out of this selection, six projects were shortlisted for the coveted RIBA Stirling Prize, to be given to the UK’s best new building in October.
For the renowned 2019 RIBA Stirling Prize Arper furnished the BBC Lounge, setting of the live broadcast of the Awards Ceremony, with Loop sofa and Pix ottomans. In addition, Saari and Dizzie collections were chosen for the Architects’ Journal press room.
In December Arper sponsored the President’s Medals, the most prestigious prizes in architectural education globally and RIBA’s oldest awards.
The winners received their Awards from RIBA President Alan Jones at an exclusive ceremony that took place at the RIBA London HQ, furbished with Arper’s Loop, Pix, Cila and Dizzie collections.
This year’s ceremony was attended by Lord Norman Foster, longstanding supporter of President’s Medals, who also presented the Silver Medal.
The Bronze and Silver Medals reward the best design projects produced at RIBA Part 2 and Part 1 or equivalent. The Dissertation Medal rewards accomplished written work.
The President’s Medal Exhibition showcases the entries of talented student work from schools of architecture located across the globe. It will be open to the public at the RIBA London HQ until February 2020, to then tour throughout the UK and internationally.
