Die Schale des Catifa Carta ist vollständig aus PaperShell gefertigt, einem revolutionären Material, das auf Papierbasis hergestellt wird. Der Stuhl besteht aus 29 Lagen Papier, die mit einem natürlichen Harzbindemittel verklebt werden. Durch die Bindung von Kohlendioxid wird der ökologische Fußabdruck des Stuhls drastisch gesenkt. Am Ende seines Lebenszyklus kann Catifa Carta durch Pyrolyse umgewandelt und wiederverwendet werden.
